Our client is a leading mid-sized law firm with offices around the tri-state. They are currently in need of a full-time Accounting Assistant for their Uniondale, NY office (central Nassau county) to report and assist the Accounting Manager. This is a hybrid role – 3 days in the office, 2 remote, working 9-5pm. Salary for this role runs from $50,000-60,000 depending on experience.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and code vendor invoices and ensure proper authorization
Input vendor invoices into Aderant accounting system
Process vendor payments, obtain signatures for checks and mail out payments
Review vendor statements
Investigate payment inquiries
Research uncashed checks and reissue as needed
Process journal entries
Assist with matter maintenance in Aderant
Record incoming wire transfers
Prepare check deposits and record in Aderant
Process client credit card payments
Investigate incoming payments with no remittance information
Assist with trust/escrow activity
Ad hoc requests and special projects

 
EXPERIENCE

College degree or working towards a degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of accounting experience
Experience with Aderant or Chrome River a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
