Legal Assistant
Our client is a boutique Law Firm located in Melville, New York focusing in the areas of Business, Corporate & Real Estate Law, Commercial Litigation, Trusts & Estates and Employment Law
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the firm’s lawyers with day-to-day tasks, as well as performing administrative duties, filing, interacting with clients, etc.
Drafting correspondence, litigation pleadings and court filings
Participate in Will signings and assist in estate plan document drafting
Handle attorneys’ calls, greet clients, and manage front desk operations
Support office tasks like copying, proofreading and mail sorting; maintain physical and electronic filing systems
Coordinate office supplies, manage inventory and maintain organization
Assist in marketing efforts, including managing LinkedIn posts, preparing, and sending email blasts, managing updates to the firm’s website, preparing newsletters, and designing event flyers
MAIN REQUIREMENTS:
· Able to work independently and should have excellent communication, organizational and writing skills drafting and proofreading legal documents, as well as, estate planning documents, along with any/all correspondences.
Organizing, and maintaining files and assisting with marketing activities.
Prior litigation and e-filing experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of LinkedIn and Constant Contact is a plus.
2-3 years previous legal assistant experience, litigation and e-Filing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Marketing and LinkedIn/Constant Contact knowledge is an asset
Salary is between $45,000 – $50,000 plus benefits
